The Effra font family has its roots in one of the earliest sans-serif designs commercially available, Caslon Junior, from 1816. Our design is updated for contemporary use, and has been expanded to our Standard character set. While it is not strictly a font intended for setting body copy, the resulting family does function well at text sizes. Effra can be effortlessly applied to a wide range of messages and media, from advertising to book design. Its five weights satisfy the need for flexibility, creating harmonious variations of texture and emphasis. Effra’s overriding design features are its clean lines and open proportions; its circular characters hint at a geometric basis and express modernity. Where traditional Grotesque features are expected, the font family surprises with soft and humanist design details. This, combined with Effra’s subtle spacing and abundant kern pairs, creates a very even texture. Effra is a truly unique design that stands out from the crowd, but has the ability to blend perfectly with other design elements, making it well-suited to magazine design, branding, and corporate identities.

Vicomte is a script typeface inspired by the American lettering style known as Engrosser’s script, Engraver’s script, or more commonly, Copperplate. Designed as “engraving on paper”, Engrosser’s script letters were carefully and slowly built-up in several strokes with a pointed pen, an attempt to imitate more the burin of the engraver than the quill of the writing master.Motivated by the same goals, Vicomte looks away from handwriting and shows inscribed qualities in its letters. The alternation of curves and angles, along with the narrowness of the characters and the tight spacing give Vicomte a dark and catchy texture, producing words with strength – without losing the delicacy of formal scripts.VicomteFY was co-created by Joachim Vu, Jeremie Hornus & Alisa Nowak on fontyou.com, the first collaborative type foundry.

The loops of the ductus have been exagerated to give this font originality and robustness. Last year, we visited Brazil and we were totally captivated by its cheerful and warm people. Its wild nature is absolutely amazing and very noticeable in textile printing as well as in floral design. That was precisely what inspired us to create some ornaments and dingbats, which we then turned into a single typographic work. The resulting typeface was called Garden, a serif display handmade font with a playful and spontaneous feel.The Garden family offers a font with a set of original catchwords (‘Garden Catchwords’, based on brush calligraphy), floral dingbats and botanical ornaments. The OpenType version provides a wide range of creative options. Garden is well-suited for text composition, posters, headlines, label design and handmade-style items. Garden is inspiration, nature and joy!
