Pilar
OTF, WOFF | 1 Font
Pilar is a new geometric sans serif typeface that was created specifically for display use. Pilar is a contemporary reimagining of European art nouveau typography.
Originally, the typeface was designed by Yury Ostromentsky in 2012 for the "Bolshoi Gorod” magazine. The new version is heavily reworked and contains three alternative sets. Now each symbol has four different variations, each with their own style and character — Regular Open, Wide Closed, Narrow and "Wild”. This allows every word or phrase to have a different look depending on the case. Alternate sets are placed in the "Stylistic Sets” panel (OpenType > Stylistic Set in Adobe programs). If the Contextual Alternates feature is enabled, every next letter in the typed word will be using a different set (Default, Set 1, Set 2, Set 3, Default, etc).
These features help designers create an extensive and rich typographic environment in their work and easily adjust it to their desired mood.
